The Men's Streetwear T-shirt Style! Simons has clearly been inspired by his new partnership, as the first women's clothing collection under his eponymous label came out just a month after Prada's big reveal. Although this is a first for its eponymous label, Simons has extensive experience designing women's clothing for other brands. He served as Jil Sander's creative director from 2008 to 2016, then held the same role at Dior from 2016 to 2018, before working at Calvin Klein from 2017 to 2019.
Although done in a short time frame, the results of Raf Simons' first women's clothing collection stark contrast to a beautiful September showcase for Prada, where the models walk neatly. Through the dark yellow set, observed by countless cameras and the Men's Streetwear T-shirt Style! For their Spring / Summer 21 Teenage Dreams presentation, which showcases both male and female outfits, Simons models curl themselves into a backward-looking fairy tale setting, dotted with bare trees. and a layer of falling petals. There's a bit of an angry, gothic teenage tinge around the collection - Simons cites hit movies as inspiration, among them The Breakfast Club, Barbarella, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
