The Christmas on Fifth at-home edition t-shirt and the plans for a traditional Christmas on the tree light on Thursday Street, with the arrival of the Clauses, are virtual this year as students will be returning home for the term on Thanksgiving. The event is scheduled for December 3 and will be streamed live by Student Activity and Kappa Omega Tau. Matt Burchett, director of student activities, says the idea is like watching a special New Year at the Rockefeller Center.

Like a cut scene for a live Christmas celebration, or a carriage ride on campus, or a big Christmas decoration Thursday. We will perform all of these preparatory steps in environments that allow us to bring that tradition home into a virtual environment. Drew Young second-year Houston was one of the event hosts for KOT and the Christmas on Fifth at-home edition t-shirt! Leading to the tree light, Young said they would hold a live broadcast, introducing a few pre-recorded segments. These will include a band, some of the history and story behind Christmas on Thursday. While some of these segments will be done first, Burchett said it expected a lot of them to be done live on-site that evening.
