It was 9 a.m. in New York when Francesca Amfitheatrof logged into Zoom to talk to me about Louis Vuitton's new high-end jewelry collection, the Stellar Times. She sits in the living room of her Brooklyn apartment, where she shares it with her husband, who accidentally entered the frame of our interview, and their two children, nowhere to be found. "Last night was a full moon," she told me. "I can really feel its energy." As Louis Vuitton's watch and jewelry art director, Amfitheatrof is responsible for creating new jewelry collections and overseeing the company's watch designs. The daughter of a Russian journalist and an Italian journalist who worked for Valentino, she attended boarding school in England, which gives the core story of her deep English accent.
