The Beautiful, simple, high-quality branded T-shirts! New Legacy is not only a LeBron James-starring sequel but also an astronomical exercise. More than 200 brands will collaborate on merchandise for the basketball cartoon and join the party with an all-but-public invitation now BAPE. The popular Japanese streetwear brand delivered pretty much exactly what you'd expect, but Tune Squad naturally showcases the BAPE aesthetic very well. A Bathing Ape's collaborative formula is more or less established in the post-Nigo era, making it easy to gear up for Space Jam, Star Wars, or any other movie looking to cash in on the next streetwear. BAPE's chunky t-shirt dresses Tune Squad in a blue Cloud Camo uniform, bringing hype to be loving motifs into the Looney Tunes universe. Bugs Bunny, Taz, Tweety Bird, and Sylvester make up BAPE's team, and Lola doesn't seem to have been invited to the boy's festival yet. Also curious - none of the BAPE characters appear with Warner Bros, and the Tune Squad Stones' jerseys haven't been recreated to be worn in real life.
Four t-shirts, all of which will be available for men and children, match the logo formula, Cloud Camo, and Looney Tunes in black or white color options. The only non-youth products of the mini-collaboration are shorts and a bucket hat that's made in Cloud Camo blue and features an image of Bugs on the front of Bape's logo. This collaboration has been called relatively well, but it's still good enough to stand out from the crowded field of Space Jam merchandise you'll see this summer and Beautiful, simple, high-quality branded T-shirts! Space Jam and BAPE are the fodder that is too easy to fail, but the most interesting thing about the collaboration is who was chosen to model it. Aren Hachimura, a promising Japanese basketball player whose brother plays for the Washington Wizards, was photographed for the lookbook, drawing more attention to the game in Japan. Bape's Space Jam Outfits will go on sale through its website at 11 a.m. this Saturday, July 10. Prices start at $115 and go as high as $205 for the shorts, and if you missed out or find the equipment too expensive, don't worry - there are plenty of other movie merchandise that will drop before the July 16 premiere, if not long after.
