The Happy First Day Of School Lunch Lady Girls T-shirt! I have always been fascinated with women's clothing. As a child, my tomboy sister refused to wear pink-rimmed princess dresses and toddler heels, but I coveted them. I feel comfortable playing with Barbie dolls and dressing up like the Spice Girls, but whenever I try to wear something I already like - like a tiara - I'm wrong. . Boys don't wear that. I finally got out of this fashion phase and started wearing clothes that were deemed "appropriate" for boys to wear. Soccer jerseys, gray tunics, and oversized pieces never excite me, but I went with it. Even now, as a grown man in my late 20s, I still find myself shopping with this same narrow perspective. While the women's section always seems bigger, more colorful, and interesting, I would seriously head towards the men's section. But recently, I've been rethinking my approach to outright procurement, along with a growing industry group.
I've been in a race since the world started reopening. Have you ever had that feeling when you wake up and think you have nothing to wear? That's me, just every day. Watching stars like Lil Nas X, Kid Cudi and Harry Styles push the boundaries of gendered style on the red carpet has inspired me to take a deep look at my own style and how I perhaps limiting myself for no good reason. A few months ago, I decided that I was finally going to have a hot summer for my girl - so, I'm finally ready to shop in the women's section. In the process, I fell in love with fashion again and The Happy First Day Of School Lunch Lady Girls T-shirt! My first business was in June when I visited 10ft Single by Stella Dallas in Brooklyn (one of my favorite vintage stores). I wanted to pick a familiar store where I would feel comfortable wearing womenswear and I think the trendy crowd there wouldn't mind (lots of Gen Z and Bella Hadid teens, stores here). While menswear is always pretty good, I ended up scoring in the women's section: I picked up two simple, silk blouses - one black, one burgundy - that most days I always wear with jeans. I also found a Hawaiian touring tank that was sunken on both sides.
