Personally, I have strong memories of burning firewood. That's just my history.
Growing up in San Diego, we went to the beach every Friday night, so for me, it's a memory I associate with the scent. Hearing how [perfumer Aurélien Guichard] thinks about it and that burning cedar tree is an inspiration for him… the process of him making it and remembering it with scent is just something I don't think about. He was inspired by a tree that was struck by lightning and the smell from it. That, for me, is a beautiful image. So, since your strongest scent memories are wood, is Burberry Hero like you? I do not know. Well, I guess? [Laughs.] That's what I want people to notice: When they spray it, it's me they're putting on their skin, and I just cuddle them all day as they pet their horses.
