I'm a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist and have been teaching figure skating for the past 20 years with Figure Skating USA, Learn to Skate USA, and the Professional Skating Association. In 2007 I moved to Colorado and started hiking on the 14ers (the peak is over 14,000 ft). The following winter, I started skiing and found ice in the pristine mountains for the first time and wondered why I didn't have my skates on! Since then, I've been hiking in my skates to the alpine lakes every year.
