We hiked the spectacular hexagonal volcanic rock formations of Jusangjeolli Cliffs, passing hordes of teenage girls on class trips, all with the same shade of maraschino-cherry lips. . Lunch, a hearty seafood stew, is served from creaking cauldrons; Snacks are rice rolls (seal to ppg) and delicate oranges, for which the island is famous, from the bride's garden. Dinner is a delicious table-side BBQ with Jeju's legendary black pork. The bride's father wowed us by ordering the groom to catch a chicken in their backyard before giving his blessing, and on the way back to the hotel.


















































































































































































































































































































He passionately grabbed the mic for a Sweet ballad when the party lights come on inside the bus. It was a great day spent learning about the island's history and culture and making new friends. The sudden presence of dry ice smoke was the first sign, spewing from under the celebrant's platform as the bride walked down the aisle. The couple (Korean-American and Taiwanese) intended the ceremony to be a mixture of American and Korean customs. (They kindly claim dry ice is the special highlight of the hotel.) Guests are dressed in a combination of vibrant hanbok, T-shirts, and sneakers. The bridesmaids (some in black, others in mini skirts) sobbed during the swearing-in ceremony. The brothers translated the fathers' speeches from Korean and Mandarin into English. A hotel employee in uniform panicked unwittingly predestined himself with hidden efforts.
