This is why despite what Lagerfeld himself thinks about fashion's place in museums, he will be the subject of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Spring 2023 Costume Institute exhibition. And it is Bolton who has been tasked with bringing the extraordinary work of one of the most research and potential minds of fashion in the 20th and 21st centuries into exhibition form.
