Tracy Dubb, co-founder of skincare company Isla Beauty, and Derek Davies, co-founder of Neon Gold record label and music tech startup Medallion, were first introduced in 2017 by people Their best friends are Molly Howard and Ben Lovett. Tracy recalls: “They invited me to see a show Derek was giving at the Public Hotel. “But in true 'me' fashion, I arrived four hours late and there was no trace of the show or Derek. Again, I was very late and I called him to let him know that I just met him at the restaurant. He was standing in our hotel room full of flowers and candles when I called him and said I wouldn't come back but would instead see my friend Jamie [Mizrahi]. Derek then calls Jamie to tell her to cancel their plan, with the message only reaching Tracy as she nears her friend's doorstep. Tracy recalls: “Then I went back to my room and was working when I opened the door. Nice Pepsi Yowamushi Pedal T-shirt!  “I yelled and hung up the person I was talking to. A few hours later, when I reappeared, I had to assure him that I was alive, well, and indeed engaged!” Their wedding took place almost two years later, in September 2022, in Palermo, Sicily. (Choosing Sicily as a wedding destination was to pay tribute to Tracy's grandparents, who were born and raised there.)
