How Goblins Look At You After You Hit Them With That Shirt! Few photos are as indelible as Peter Lindbergh's 1990 photo of original superstars Naomi, Linda, Christy, Cindy, and Tatjana, without them all wearing jeans and a black pleated top, with faces almost naked and her hair blowing in the wind. It captures the women who have been defined for a decade and shows them who they are, not the chameleons they are known for. Now, 33 years later, they are reunited on the cover of the September issue of Vogue, seen through the lens of young Rafael Pavarotti. (Tatjana Patitz sadly passed away earlier this year.) “My reaction when asked to participate in this September photo shoot was 'Is this really happening?'” Naomi said of the photo shoot. the idea of reuniting with the women who met her and whom she saw growing up. “We went there and we forgot we were there to work.” The superstars posed in various poses, alone and with each other, wearing dapper suits, chic evening dresses, and of course, jeans and tank tops. While the latter is a cheery nod to the makeovers that have earned them legendary status in previous years, it's by no means a reboot. There are models, and there are supermodels - people who are so recognizable that they become celebrities in their own right.
